As I continue to observe the world around me, I can’t help but notice the increasing sense of urgency and pace evident in everything we do. Traffic is getting worse, everyone’s life is so “hectic” and the simple act of waiting in a queue for an extra few seconds seems an arduous task. We seem to be caught in a strong current dragging us NOWHERE fast!

SUCCESS can be defined as the PROGRESSIVE achievement of a desired goal. Human beings are most HAPPY when they are on track to achieving a goal, NOT when they reach it. When we do achieve a goal the feeling of elation is short-lived and we naturally start thinking about achieving another. It is the JOURNEY, then, that really brings us what we want!

Enjoy the journey more than the destination!!

Here are a few simple strategies to help you stay centred on the daily..

  • Be more aware of your internal thoughts and feelings

  • Start each day with a positive message – a quote, podcast or a few pages from your favourite book/audiobook

  • Surround yourself with positive people who encourage you and distance yourself from the others

  • Smile more!

  • Watch LESS TV, spend MORE time on self-development

  • Before you respond to anything take a moment to think and then respond in the positive

  • Take a walk and re-equilibrate your thoughts

  • Do something you love for an hour or so..

  • Go for a drive

  • Perform a random act of kindness

  • Strive to be a person who gives value rather than receives it

  • Give without expectation!

  • Look at material things as “replaceable” things

  • DON’T WORRY BE HAPPY!!
